The 40 Ounce Model
A tribute to the Californian boards of around 65-67, the '40 Ounce' is like no other longboard in the Fine Surfcraft range. While the Pilsner, Lager and King Brown models are all based off what guys like Nat, Bob and Wayne were doing around Oz in the 60s, this is a straight up traditional Takayama style longboard. Back to basics, nothing too technical, just the stuff of old that's worked for 50 years. With a much flatter rocker and fuller rail shape, it trims really well and is a lot more forgiving especially for surfers at a novice level. Wider nose and tail, combined with a large concave, stiff, upright pivot fin and that flat rocker make this board a true old school noserider for waves with shape and even mushy slop, think this board, think Nuuhiwa 66 or Tudor 99.
